HOGAR MADRE TERESA CALCUTTA
‘Madre Teresa Calcutta’ is a home for disabled children of all ages. The families of these children do not have the economic capability to take proper care of them. The congregations of the ‘Sisters Mother Teresa of Calcutta’ offer the personalized attention required for each of the patients on an individual basis. Etnika’s collaborates in helping to develop daily activities such as helping them to eat, cleaning their spaces, offering donations such as diapers and cleaning products.
The Sanctuary Refuge Canino Human Actions, has a mission to protect and provide a better quality of life to dogs that are in a state of physical and emotional neglect. We embrace both their permanent and temporary care, as well as developing education and social awareness campaigns with the goal of “humanizing” people and “harmonizing” the way individuals interact with their physical and social environment.

PROJECTS IN COMMUNITIES
Project to strengthen ancestral knowledge – Community of Catcca
In this community there are wise elders who have preserved ancestral knowledge and who are still practicing. But they lack a link so that they can transmit this knowledge to the next generation.
The Human Actions team is helping the wise elders to organise workshops in the community school targeted at children and adolescents giving them the opportunity to learn and practice this important cultural knowledge. The workshops are focused on textiles, medicinal plants, permaculture, and gastronomy.
The Human Actions team are also providing the community with a counselling service aimed at sexual education, prevention of human trafficking, and psychotherapy sessions.
Social responsibility is something we consider very important here at Etnika’s. Our programs extend help into the communities of Cusco that have few resources. Communities such as Umachurco, in the province of San Salvador, have 150 children of all ages. Etnika’s provides the schools in Umachurco with pens, books and other supplies and disease screening campaigns. We also offer psychological counselling campaigns to the parents and children.
